Cutting and Sealing


As concrete cures (or hardens), excess water evaporates causing the concrete to shrink and sometimes crack. Expansion cuts are essential to help prevent / minimise random cracking. The purpose of these cuts is to provide a weak point where the concrete can shrink and relieve strain at the join so that cracking is directed into the cut rather than other parts of the slab.

Cutting is not only essential in controlling and reducing the chance of cracking, but is also used for aesthetic purposes to add visual appeal to your concrete. Decorative cuts are typically 10mm wide and can be cut in a range of patterns and effects. Grouting the 10mm wide cuts creates large paver or tiled effect. And ensure the cuts will not fill with dirt and weeds. Our design team can assist in creating a design that works for you.

This is essential to the enhance and protect your concrete from staining or marking, resulting in long term durability and low maintenance surface.
